High-pressure processing equipment maker Hiperbaric is arriving at PACK EXPO International 2026 with its most capable machine to date: the Hiperbaric 525 configured with 12 intensifiers, which the company says delivers the highest cycle rate and smallest floor footprint of any comparable HPP system running at 6,000 bar. For food and beverage processors evaluating preservation technology, that combination matters more than specs on a sell sheet — it directly affects line throughput, facility lease costs, and clean-label product strategy.
What the Machine Actually Does
HPP, or high-pressure processing, subjects packaged food and beverage products to up to 6,000 bar of isostatic water pressure, inactivating pathogens and spoilage microorganisms without heat. The result is pasteurization-equivalent food safety with no thermal damage to flavor, texture, or nutritional profile — a clean-label processing method that has become increasingly relevant as operators across juice, meat, seafood, dairy, and prepared-foods categories respond to retail buyer and consumer demand for shorter ingredient decks. The H525 with 12 intensifiers completes up to 10.7 cycles per hour on a 525-gallon vessel, outperforming comparably configured systems tested under identical conditions. Hiperbaric manufactures its intensifiers in-house, which it says allows continuous performance optimization based on field data from its installed base of more than 450 machines globally.
Two Configurations, One Procurement Decision
Processors shopping the H525 choose between two physical configurations. The Standard layout places intensifiers at floor level alongside the vessel — suited to facilities with limited ceiling height — and requires 1,000 square feet at a machine height of 8.9 feet. The Integrated configuration mounts intensifiers on a built-in mezzanine platform above the vessel, reducing the floor footprint to 940 square feet while raising height to 16.5 feet; that recovered floor space can accommodate upstream or downstream automation, additional equipment, or operational traffic. Both configurations support an upgrade path: existing H525 installations can be brought to 12 intensifiers, and Standard units can be converted to the Integrated mezzanine layout, giving current operators a route to full throughput without a full equipment replacement. An integrated return conveyor is included across both builds, eliminating what Hiperbaric estimates at up to 20,000 pounds of manual canister lifting per shift — a meaningful labor and ergonomics consideration for operations running multiple shifts. Each intensifier is independently isolatable, meaning technicians can service a single unit while the machine continues running on the remaining intensifiers, reducing planned downtime exposure.

Beyond the hardware, Hiperbaric is positioning its HPP Support Program as a procurement differentiator. Included with every machine purchase at no ongoing cost, the program covers 24/7 remote troubleshooting, on-site field service within 24 to 48 hours, spare parts warehousing across four global locations (USA, Mexico, Spain, and New Zealand) with a stated sub-24-hour shipping commitment, and access to in-house food process authorities who can help processors reduce time-to-market on new HPP SKUs.
