The Deal
Athletic Brewing Company has signed a multi-year agreement making it the official non-alcoholic beer partner of MetLife Stadium, the New York Giants, and the New York Jets — the first dedicated NA brewer to hold that designation at an NFL stadium. The partnership places 19.2 oz. cans of Run Wild IPA and Upside Dawn Golden across concourse locations throughout the East Rutherford, N.J. venue, which carries the largest seating capacity in the NFL at 82,500.
For foodservice and beverage operators managing stadium or large-venue accounts, this deal is worth tracking. It confirms that NA beer has crossed from novelty to standard-category consideration at the highest tier of venue volume — and that buyers at premier sports facilities are now actively building non-alcoholic SKUs into their core beverage programs rather than treating them as a specialty add-on.
What the Placement Looks Like
Beyond point-of-sale at concourse locations, the partnership includes video board integration, interactive fan promotions, LED and pylon branding, digital highway signage near the stadium, and product sampling activations on select game days. Athletic will also extend into Giants and Jets television, radio, digital, and social platforms — plus training camps and community events throughout the New York metropolitan area. Special-edition team packaging is planned for later this year: 12-packs of Run Wild IPA branded for the Giants and 12-packs of Upside Dawn Golden for the Jets.
That activation footprint reflects a mature sponsorship structure — not a trial placement. It mirrors the kind of integrated brand program typically reserved for established alcoholic beverage partners, signaling that venue operators and team marketing departments are treating NA beer as a full revenue and engagement category rather than a compliance accommodation.
What It Signals for Operators
Athletic already holds placements at more than 200 venues nationally and maintains partnerships across professional soccer, baseball, lacrosse, hockey, college athletics, endurance events, and live music. According to NielsenIQ data through July 2026, the company commands over 50.0% NA craft beer market share in total U.S. measured channels, outselling its closest competitor by 44 share points. It ranks as a top 15 U.S. brewing company by volume per the Brewers Association's 2025 Annual Craft Brewing Industry Production Report.
For operators evaluating their own beverage programs — whether in stadiums, arenas, hotels, or hospitality venues — the MetLife deal reinforces a procurement reality that has been building for several years: non-alcoholic beer is no longer a secondary consideration when structuring beverage contracts. Guests who don't drink alcohol are now an explicitly named constituency in venue strategy. Ron VanDeVeen, President and CEO of MetLife Stadium, cited directly the goal of "broadening beverage offerings" and "reflecting the preferences of all guests" as drivers of the partnership.
That framing is useful for operators writing or renegotiating beverage agreements: the language of inclusivity and guest-preference diversity is now embedded at the stadium-partnership level, which tends to set expectations downstream for smaller venues, hospitality groups, and managed-service operators. Buyers and F&B directors who haven't yet revisited NA beer shelf and tap allocation — particularly in high-volume event settings — are increasingly out of step with where large-venue procurement is heading.
For brands seeking venue or retail distribution entry points, Athletic's trajectory also illustrates the compounding effect of building distribution through experiential and sponsorship channels before pushing hard into retail. The company launched commercially in 2018 and is now available at over 75,000 retail locations nationwide — a footprint that grew alongside, not ahead of, its venue and event presence.
Operators sourcing non-alcoholic and better-for-you beverage options for event menus should expect Athletic and its NA competitors to accelerate venue pitches through the 2026–2027 sports calendar as this deal gets visibility.
