Lavazza has launched My Lavazza, its first loyalty program in the United States, introducing a points-based rewards system built around the brand's existing retail, e-commerce, and subscription channels. Members earn points called "Beans" at a rate of 1 Bean per $1 spent, with accelerated earning for active subscribers and code entry from Tablì tab packaging. The program went live just ahead of National Coffee Day on September 29, a deliberate timing move to anchor initial enrollment around a high-engagement moment for the category.
How the Program Works
My Lavazza operates on three tiers — Enthusiast (0–299 Beans), Barista (300–799 Beans), and Maestro (800+ Beans) — with the Barista tier automatically granted to members holding an active Lavazza My Way subscription. That mechanic is worth noting: it functionally rewards the brand's highest-value customers and creates a structural incentive to convert one-time buyers into recurring revenue. First-time subscribers also receive a 50-Bean bonus and earn 2x Beans on every delivery, making the subscription-to-loyalty flywheel explicit.
Beyond transactions, members can earn Beans through dashboard "Missions" — quizzes, surveys, and interactive content — and through receipt uploads for in-store purchases at authorized retail partners, capped at three receipts and 75 Beans per month. Monthly sweepstakes entries (no purchase required) round out the non-transactional engagement layer. Beans redeem against Lavazza discounts and third-party digital gift cards.
What This Signals for Operators
For foodservice operators and retail buyers, the My Lavazza launch is less about discounts and more about data architecture. Daniele Foti, Lavazza North America's Marketing VP, framed the program as a cross-channel engagement layer: "Whether through our foodservice partners, at retail, online or directly through our own channels, we want to engage with customers wherever they find us." That kind of omnichannel identity graph — linking the same consumer across a café visit, a grocery receipt, and an e-commerce subscription — is increasingly the competitive advantage premium CPG brands are building ahead of retail resets and distributor conversations.
The receipt-upload mechanic is a practical tell. It lets Lavazza map retail velocity at the SKU level without requiring POS integration with each retail partner, giving the brand a shadow data layer that most wholesale relationships don't provide. Foodservice operators who carry Lavazza products should expect that consumer-facing loyalty infrastructure will increasingly influence how the brand allocates co-marketing support, promotional spend, and distribution prioritization in the U.S. market — currently one of the brand's growth targets within its broader global portfolio, which reported turnover of over €3.9 billion.
Peer context matters here. Nespresso's loyalty ecosystem, Starbucks Rewards' transaction-driven tiering, and Peet's Coffee loyalty have all demonstrated that first-party data compounds in value over 18–36 months, particularly for category premium positioning and targeted digital campaigns. Lavazza is entering that race with a structure that mirrors best-in-class execution, including the subscription double-earn mechanic that drives lifetime value over single-purchase behavior.
For agencies and vendors serving the premium beverage space, this launch opens procurement conversations around loyalty platform technology, CRM integration, and the kind of programmatic and email growth strategies that feed off first-party audience segments. Brands building loyalty stacks at this stage are typically 12–18 months away from activating that data in paid media — making now the right window for vendors to position.
